Day 1 Friday, Rome: Upon arrival, check into hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. A welcome dinner and an introduction by your tour escort. Overnight at Cicerone Hotel or similar.
Day 2 Saturday, Rome: After breakfast, you will have a tour of Rome. Classic sites include: Trevi Fountain, the Lungotevere, Castle of St. Angelo and St. Peter's Basilica. Afternoon free time at leisure. Overnight at Cicerone Hotel or similar.
Day 3 Sunday, Rome and Siena and Florence: After breakfast depart for Florence, "Cradle of the Renaissance", crossing some of Italy's most beautiful regions, including Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany, before arriving in Florence at approximately noon. In the early afternoon, a local guide will introduce you to Giotto's Bell Tower, Piazza Della Signoria, and many other timeless highlights. Dinner & overnight at NH Firenze Hotel or similar.
Day 4 Monday, Florence and Lake Maggiore: After breakfast depart to the Lombardia region continuing to Stresa/Baveno, two quaint, picturesque towns on Lake Maggiore, where you will spend two nights. Lake Maggiore is one of Italy's most beautiful lakes known for its splendid climate and sightseeing. Dinner and overnight at Milan Speranza au Lac Hotel or similar.
Day 5 Tuesday, Lake Maggiore and Lugano (Switzerland): Breakfast is followed by a day-long excursion into the Alps and Switzerland. Skirting Lake Maggiore, you will pass Pallanza, Intra and Ghiffa before reaching Lugano where you can enjoy leisure time shopping the elegant boutiques of Via Nassa or walking by the magnificent Civic Park. Return to Stresa/Baveno later in the afternoon. Milan Speranza au Lac Hotel or similar.
Day 6 Wednesday, Lake Maggiore and Verona and Venice (Mestre): Breakfast is followed by departure to Verona, one of Italy's most fascinating cities featuring a wide array of monuments and historic buildings, such as Romeo and Juliet's balcony and the Roman Theatre. Depart for Venice which is boasting with incredible number of churches, piazzas, historical buildings, canals, restaurants & shops. Dinner and overnight at Plaza Hotel or similar.
Day 7 Thursday, Venice (Mestre): After breakfast, you will take a private boat across the Giudecca Canal to Piazza San Marco to meet a local expert for a guided walking tour of the city, taking in the Palace of the Doges, the Bridge of Sighs and many other highlights, concluding at a glass factory. The afternoon is free for an optional visit to Murano and Burano, or to explore on your own. Back to your hotel for overnight at Plaza Hotel or similar.
Day 8 Friday, Venice ( Mestre) and Airport: After an early breakfast, transfer to Venice Airport for your return flight home. End of tour.
