Day 1 Friday, Rome: Upon arrival check into hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Welcome dinner and an introduction by your tour escort. Overnight at Cicerone Hotel or similar.
Day 2 Saturday, Rome: After breakfast take a tour of Rome. Classic sites include: Trevi Fountain, the Lungotevere, Castle of St. Angelo and St. Peter's Basilica. Afternoon free time at leisure. Overnight at Cicerone Hotel or similar.
Day 3 Sunday, Rome - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento: After breakfast depart for Naples. A short drive across this famous city, known as the capital of the 'Kingdom of Two Sicilies' introduces us to Mergellina, Lungomare Caracciolo, Castel Dell'Ovo and il Maschio Angioino. Next, to Pompeii for a guided afternoon tour of the archaeological excavations of this Roman city, destroyed and buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD and rediscovered at the end of the 16th century. Then to Sorrento with dinner and overnight at La Residenza Hotel or similar.
Day 4 Monday, Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento: After breakfast, transfer to the ferry and cross to the Isle of Capri, famous since Roman times and favourite vacation spot of the Emperor Tiberius. Arrive at the port of Marina Grande and take mini-bus to La Piazzetta. Lunch is included and leisure time to explore. Return to Sorrento, dinner and overnight at La Residenza Hotel or similar.
Day 5 Tuesday, Sorrento: Breakfast at the hotel, and a day at leisure in Sorrento or take an optional tour to Amalfi. Overnight at at La Residenza Hotel or similar.
Day 6 Wednesday, Sorrento - Montecassino - Roman Countryside: In the morning depart from Sorrento and drive toward Roman Countryside. En route stop at the Abbey of Mt. Cassino renowned for the battle during World War ll. Proceed to The Cassino War Cemetery, the largest WWII Cemetery in Italy. The cemetery contains 4265 grave markers of soldiers. They died in battles against the Germany army. In the afternoon arrival in the Roman Countryside. Dinner and overnight at Villa Vecchia Hotel or similar.
Day 7 Thursday, Roman Countryside: These lovely small villages in the south of Rome, called Castelli, are an isolated group rising from the Roman countryside and have always been a wonderful holiday resort, due to the beauty of the landscape, the works of art you can see there, the typical local cuisine and the good wine! The first village to visit is Castelgandolfo and its palace (pope's summer residence) and the lovely lake of Albano, a former ancient volcano. Driving along the tuscolana road we reach Grottaferrata that is very famous for its important 15th century monastery decorated with 16th century frescos of saint Nilus' life. We continue visiting Nemi village built on the slope of a hill, over viewing Nemi Lake, another former volcano. This village is very famous because in spring you can sit in a bar tasting wild strawberries with fresh cream and looking at the panorama over the lake. If you wish during this your, we will visit wineries. There are few things in the world as enjoyable as a great glass of wine. you will be able to sample some of the best wines that Italy has to offer as well as various cheeses and meats specifically chosen to complement the wines you are tasting. Dinner and overnight at Villa Vecchia Hotel or similar.
Day 8 Friday, Roman Countryside - Airport: After breakfast, transfer to Rome's Fiumicino airport for your return flight home. End of tour.
