The historic Hotel Ambasciatori Palace, so-named in the early 1900's because of its selected clientele of diplomats and businessmen, has always been the hotel of choice in Rome for a vast number of personalities from the world of culture, politics and finance.
Celebrities who has been recently include Liza Minelli, Sean Connery, Sofia Loren, Arnold Schwarznegger, Luis Borges.
This exclusive hotel stands about halfway along via Veneto in the centre of Rome, it was designed by the architect Carlo Busiri Vici between 1900 and 1903 and was one of the first buildings to go up in the area, originally surrounded by vineyards, vegetable plots and gardens.To highlight the hotel's rural location its structure incorporates some of the architectural features typical of large prestigious country houses. In 1993 the hotel's interior was restored to its original appearance, making use of the existing embellishments. The plaster cornices, ceiling panels, capitals and arches, columns of Brazilian granite, marble flooring with borders decorated in coloured mosaic and the wrought ironwork of the central staircase, have all been restored to their former splendour.
It has 150 rooms full of old-fashioned charm, in the heart of the business district, 50 décors in brocade, finest-quality woods, antique marble, period furniture. The rooms are large and luxurious. The newest rooms are on the 6th floor. Most are decorated with traditional furniture and dark wood parquet flooring. Top floor rooms have balcony. The bathrooms are large sized and marbled, with Jacuzzis on the 6th floor.
The Ambasciatori Palace offers a modern and well-equipped centre for social functions and meetings. Its 12 conference rooms can host between 10 and 200 delegates for congresses, and each room can be set up in theatre style, U-shape, classroom or boardroom style. Its 12 multi-purpose function rooms can be used for cocktail parties of up to 200 people or can seat 150 for lunches and dinners.
For conferences each room will be set up and equipped with multimedia resources according to your needs.
The Restaurant "La Terrazza", serving food prepared by our chef Vanni Dal Pan, is on the mezzanine floor and seats 60 people. Famous since the 1920s, “it is one of the hotel's great pleasures. Haute cuisine, swift but refined lunches, business lunches or dinners, formal or informal occasions... Choice of menus every day , exclusively china service, cellar with over 1000 wines...
The Bar "The Embassy", the hub of the hotel, is located in the reception rooms adjacent to the lobby and in the evening becomes a piano bar where you can enjoy the famous cocktails mixed by our barman Andrea Esposito. Guests are welcome to enjoy an intimate, relaxing evening in this Bar, featuring live piano music and an international range of renowned aperitifs and cocktails until the late evening.
