The Hotel Capri in the past was an ancient villa built at the end of the 19th century. Local rumors had it tha t the future King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele III, used for his trysts with a neapolitan noblewoman. At the beginning of the 20th century the villa was turned into a hotel by the German Eduard von Rahden, and from 1905 it was managed by Herr F. Eidembenze. In 1920, the Arcucci family from Anacapri, changed its name in Hotel Capri. From 1959 the hotel is managed by the Esposito family.
