The Hotel Poseidon, once a beautiful Mediterranean villa in the heart of Positano, is today a hotel in a green area overlooking the “ vertical village “ and the Amalfi coast, one of the most beautiful and picturesque places of the world.
Poseidon has offered for 50 years, thanks to the Aonzo family daily commitment, a discreet and elegant hospitality, in harmony with Positano image and tradition: a privileged place where to experience the charm of Positano, that has attracted for more than a hundred years, and still does, artists from all over the world, for which the Poseidon organizes sometimes exhibitions, retrospectives and literary shows too.
The reception and the personnel politeness help to create a warm and familiar atmosphere allowing our guests to feel at home.
Taking into consideration the history, the location (south-east) and the hotel structure due to Positano’s vertical shape, the 51 rooms, furnished in a Mediterranean style with all the necessary comforts, are all of different size:
The Superior rooms, Junior suites and Suites have a private terrace or balcony with a side sea view.
The Standard rooms have a private terrace or balcony overlooking the garden or the village.
The indoor dining room was the living room of the villa it is an unusal shape but in a typical style, with terracotta tiled floor, walnut fixtures, windows and wrought-iron railings.
During the warmest months, from the end of May through September, the meals are served on the outside panoramic terrace, covered by a very beautiful bougainvillea and grape pergola, that has a wood-burning oven and a grill.
The bar is centrally located overlooking from one side the lounge with a beautiful fireplace and piano and the terrace with a swimming pool from the other side. This is one of the hotel focal places: some shady areas to enjoy the fresh breeze, a sunbathing terrace with a swimming pool (10m x 5m), and quiet areas where to enjoy a moment of relax a drink, meeting a person, an art exhibition or a literary show.
The Hotel Poseidon has a health centre, the first one in Positano, created to offer its guests and non-staying guests a wide range of face and body beauty treatments, and massages. Apart from the four equipped massage rooms, there are also: the Turkish bath dug into the rock, the sunshower and the Shiatsu room.
Another focal place is the large and panoramic gym, fully equipped with up to date machinery for a complete fitness programme.
